The Amalfi Coast & Florence

A sample journey, well suited to a honeymoon or anniversary

A glimpse of how a trip comes together. This is a sample, built to show the pacing, the settings, and the kind of touches we plan. Every real journey is designed around you.

A harbor with boats docked in the water, with hillside buildings and mountainous terrain in the background under a blue sky.
Scenic view of a coastal hillside with white and yellow buildings overlooking the ocean, with sailboats, lush greenery, and mountains in the background under partly cloudy sky.

Amalfi

Day 1, Arrival

Arrival arranged to your preference, by private car, train, or even helicopter to the coast, a private driver waiting to carry you and your luggage the last winding stretch to Amalfi. Settle into a cliffside hotel above the sea, or a private villa with a cook and household team, then ease into the trip with a first dinner on a terrace in the front row to the water.

Day 2, Slow by the Sea

A deliberate do-nothing day after your travel day. Morning at the hotel's private beach club, a long lunch by the water, and an unhurried wander through Amalfi on foot, the Duomo di Sant'Andrea, the little shops, a coffee in the piazza. The afternoon left open for the spa or the pool, then dinner at a beloved local spot near the water.

Day 3, Ravello

A private car up the hill to Ravello, one of the coast's quiet highlights. The gardens at Villa Cimbrone and the Terrace of Infinity, where the view falls straight to the sea, then a relaxed lunch and a stroll back down through Atrani, the smallest village on the coast. Dinner in Amalfi's main square.

Day 4, Lemons and Light

A morning for whatever suits you, a coastal hike for the energetic, or another slow turn at the beach club. In the afternoon, a private visit to a working lemon grove above the town, the terraces the coast is famous for. Sunset drinks at Marina Grande, then a candlelit dinner outdoors.

Large sea stacks rising from the ocean, with a bright blue sky overhead and a boat sailing nearby, from Capri, Italy.

Positano & Capri

Day 5, Arriving in Positano

A short, scenic transfer to Positano, its pastel houses stacked up the hillside above the water. An afternoon to settle in and explore the stepped streets, drinks at a legendary terrace as the sun goes down, and dinner at an intimate favorite.

Day 6, The Beach and the Best Table

A morning on Spiaggia Grande, chairs and umbrella reserved, with a leisurely beachfront lunch. The evening belongs to one of the coast's standout dining rooms, a Michelin-level dinner above the water, the kind people talk about for years.

Day 7, Capri

A private boat across to Capri in the morning, calling at the Blue Grotto and the sea caves along the shore. Up to Anacapri and the chairlift to Monte Solaro for the view over the whole island, then the Piazzetta and the island's boutiques for the handmade linen Capri is known for. A long, lazy lunch, and, if the sea is calm, a swim near the Faraglioni. Back to Positano in the late-afternoon light, dinner reserved on a terrace above the water.

Day 8, Path of the Gods

The famous ridgeline walk, the Path of the Gods, with the whole coast unfolding below you, timed for the light and your pace. An easy afternoon for shopping and rest, then dinner at a warm local table.

Day 9, On the Water

A full day aboard a private gozzo from Positano, lunch served on deck, swimming and drifting into the quiet coves along the coast. A final coast dinner to close this leg.

Cityscape of Florence, Italy with the Florence Cathedral's dome (Santa Maria del Fiore), alongside other historic buildings, under a cloudy sky.

Pompeii and North

Day 10, A Private Pompeii

Check out and travel north, with a private stop at Pompeii, or Herculaneum if you prefer the quieter of the two, walking the ancient streets with an archaeologist, well away from the crowds. From there, on to Naples and a high-speed train to Florence, met at the station by a private driver. An easy first evening in the city, a walk along the Ponte Vecchio, and dinner at a trattoria in the old center.

Florence and Tuscany

Day 11, Domes and Masterpieces

A morning climb of Brunelleschi's Dome for Florence from above, then the Uffizi with private early access, walking the galleries with a historian before the doors open to the public. A garden lunch, sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo, then dinner with a view of the Ponte Vecchio and gelato on the walk home.

Day 12, A Day in Tuscany

A private drive into the Chianti hills, the countryside opening into vineyards and stone villages. A morning at a family wine estate, a tasting and a walk through the cellars, then a long lunch at the property that stretches into the afternoon. Back to Florence in the early evening, the rest of the night yours.

Day 13, David and the City

An early, private viewing of the David at the Accademia, the hall nearly to yourselves before the crowds arrive. A last wander through the markets and streets, an afternoon for whatever has caught your eye, and a final Florentine dinner.

Day 14, Departure

A slow morning, and a departure arranged so the last day feels as easy as the first, a private driver to the station or airport when you're ready.

Your Turn

This is one way a journey along the coast and into the city can unfold. Yours would be entirely your own, down to the quiet touches we arrange in the background, a private dinner set for two, a sunset sail with champagne, the small things that mark the occasion.
